A sunrise and a sunset

Unable to sleep in (went to bed late and drank too much), I went for a 5.5 mile run around town this morning, and was rewarded by spectacular clouds and sunlight beaming through the fog. It was exactly what I needed to kick the hangover.

Throughout the day, the clouds and colors were absolutely brilliant. I couldn’t wait to get out again for another run after work.
I headed up to the Donner Rim Trail, via Negro Canyon, towards Summit Lake.

I will let the photos tell their own story, as the scenery was pretty unbelievable and I don’t want to ruin it with text. The run ended up being about 12.5 miles with 2500′ of climbing. An out and back to Frog Lake Overlook on the Warren Lake Trail.

    Thank you for this.
You inspired me to do the Negro Canyon to Frog Lake cliffs run today.
We all run through our injuries and personal pain and are better people for it.
    Keep Running.
