Soccer until sunset

Avian has been dreaming of playing soccer for years, and by some miracle I managed to sign her up in time not only for the season, but for the AYSO British Soccer Camp this week. She loved her first day at camp, and continued to wear her shin guards, cleats and carry her new soccer ball around all day. Summit Canyon-Donner Pass-Tinker Knob- Coldstream Canyon

Monday, I worked 8 hours then met my friend Greg for a run on the Tahoe Rim Trail at Brockway Summit.  It was a record-breakingRead more

July 4th weekend

July 4th weekend, we went camping on Donner Summit. JP’s sister and her boyfriend own 300+ acres on the Yuba River, so we headed up there for a couple days. It was nice to go “on vacation” only 25 minutes from home. The Yuba River was perfect for fishing, swimming, and doing long “water hikes”. Stephen and Avian each found real arrowheads while hiking in the granite. Gerard taught the kids how to drive a tractor.     We had a blastRead more
